Cards are modifiers that can be put into play for a certain period of time or sometimes an instant effect. As an example of a card, the woodsmanship card adds a small increase to your wood output over a period of time. Cards are split into 4 strengths, bronze, silver, gold and diamond. 150px|thumb|right|Milk maids card200px|thumb|right|Card tooltip
The time varies dependant on the type of card played and some cards played have an instant effect.
Players can trade in cards they have bought from packs using firefly crowns to earn card points. To trade in, the player needs to trade in 5 cards as a set which automatically grants them 25 card points. A bonus of card points may be added if the player is lucky when trading and gets 3 or more identical symbols for their set, with different symbols awarding different amounts of card points. The player can then use the card points to buy individual cards in the Get Cards screen. Cards in this screen are all priced differently but the player can select them all individually for what they need or want.
If a number is displayed in the top left corner of the card, this is how many of that card you have. If no number is displayed, you only have one of that card. The number in the bottom right corner of the card is the minimum rank required to play the card. The symbol in the top right corner of the card shows the strength of the card. Cards have 4 strengths; Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond. The higher the strength of the card, the more beneficial the card is to the player. For example, a Small Cheese Haul is a Silver strength card and only gives the player a small amount of cheese. A Big Cheese Haul card is a Diamond Strength card and rewards the player with a much larger amount of cheese added to the granary.
Cards which increase the speed of units or armies on the world map, such as Basic Logistics or Basic Stables, need to be played before sending out the units/armies. If they are dispatched before playing the card, they will not be affected.
Instant cards (Purple in colour) do not display a timer when played like other cards. They are played instantly and add resources to the respective building. In the case of Instant building cards, they are used when the next building of that type is placed in the village.
In order to use this card you need to ensure you have an Inn placed. If you have got an Inn, ensure it is not full before you play the card.
